An enthusiastic group from the Washington Conference experienced a miracle during their week of work in Cuzco, Peru. The group had good weather and despite keeping busy with evangelistic meetings and construction, they finished the Las Joyas church two days ahead of schedule!
The volunteers were invited to another site, not far from Machu Picchu where local church members were forging ahead with their own church building project unaided. The Washington group unanimously voted to make the two hour journey to the Pisqa Cucho church site. Local church members were building as much as possible with just a few church members, and very few resources. The clay brick walls were already up when Maranatha volunteers arrived to put up the trusses and provide some extra help.
Washington Conference President John Freedman says, "With our help the trusses went up very quickly. They were very encouraged. It really looks good!" The extra help gave the hardworking church members the boost they needed and progress is forging ahead! The Washington group had a special prayer for the congregation before they returned to their camp.
Sabbath held another dedication service for the original project in Las Joyas. See more pictures and hear the stories on the web log.
