A huge construction venture Maranatha has embarked upon
Susan Woods writes from Mozambique where her husband David is heading the huge construction venture Maranatha has embarked upon. Read more in her online blog on the Maranatha homepage.
My devotional time has been taking me on the Israelites' journey through the wilderness. As David faces each new week full of numerous logistical considerations and laying groundwork for the work to come, I have often thought of the tasks Moses faced leading huge numbers of people through the desert. Thankfully we too have access to the same source of wisdom Moses did - the heavenly kind. As the team here prepares for the proposed task ahead, crafting 365 churches next year which amounts to thousands of bricks created each working day, hundreds of steel systems (David could quote you the figures!) and numerous other items plus the logistics of transferring all these items to the proper church sites, hiring the many crews necessary, etc. etc.. one can easily feel overwhelmed. Unless we remember that this is a God-sized project He has called us to, and He will show up!! Unexpected delays continue to arise but we know unreservedly that God is in control. To you our family and friends worldwide, we ask especially that you lift up this project in prayer. We need prayer warriors to join us in presenting the challenges and opportunities to God. We'll be pleased to share with you His answers!
